Why choose it? You want a wider lower-frequency sweep in a suitable space where audible sound is acceptable.

14–15 kHz · Bass
Concentrates the frequency sweep into a narrower band, also within rodent hearing. An alternative profile for the same sound-based setup.
Why does it exist? It gives you a narrower pitch range than Treble. Select it when you want that alternative sound profile and the instructions allow.
What will you notice? Despite the name “Bass,” this is a high pitch, not a low rumble. People may hear it.

Rodent hearing extends below ultrasound. In one laboratory mouse study, the best hearing range was 8–24 kHz. Bass and Treble sit within that interval.

Which setting is for mice and rats?
All three listed ranges fall within the broad hearing capabilities of mice and rats. Treble (9–15 kHz) provides a wider lower-frequency sweep; Bass (14–15 kHz) is narrower; Ultrasonic (25–66 kHz) is above usual human hearing. Choose the sound profile according to the device instructions and the people and animals using the room.
Does it switch through all three modes automatically?
You select the mode using the front button. Variable-frequency describes changing pitch within a range; it does not mean all three button settings are selected at once.
Can people or pets hear it?
The 9–15 kHz and 14–15 kHz ranges can be audible. The ultrasonic range is above typical human hearing, but animals hear differently. Do not place it in rooms with pet rodents. For other pets, follow the manual and ask your veterinarian about suitability. Stop use if anyone shows discomfort.

Can I place two in the same large room?
Two devices at separate, clear outlets give you two sound sources. Keep the fronts unobstructed and follow the device instructions. Each unit needs a suitable dry indoor location.
Are refills, batteries or subscriptions needed?
No. RodiVex is a direct-plug device with no scent cartridges or batteries to replace. The offers on this page are one-time purchases. Electricity is required during operation.
Can I use it outside, in an engine bay or in a damp shed?
No. This model is intended for dry indoor use. Keep it away from water, exposed outdoor outlets, wet areas and vehicle engine compartments. Follow the voltage and installation instructions on the actual unit.
What is the power draw and size?
Rated power is 3W. The ABS body is approximately 81 × 64 × 70 mm, or 3.2 × 2.5 × 2.8 inches, with an approximate weight of 40g. It is available here in black.
